Alibaba releases Qwen Robot Suite, its first AI model family for physical robots

The Qwen Robot Suite comprises three models: Qwen-RobotNav for spatial navigation, Qwen-RobotWorld for predicting how physical scenarios unfold, and Qwen-RobotManip for cross-embodiment training at scale. Together, they're built to close what Alibaba calls the central bottleneck of embodied intelligence: the gap between understanding the physical world and acting in it.
WHY IT MATTERS
This is Alibaba's first move into physical AI model infrastructure, following Nvidia's Cosmos 3 and Baidu's earlier robotics stack. If the Qwen Robot Suite follows the open-weight path of Alibaba's language models, developers outside China could fine-tune these models on their own hardware, which would expand the physical AI ecosystem faster than any proprietary stack could do alone.
